Chao Li, MD

Dr. Chao Li is a Board Certified Dermatologist who focuses on helping his patients understand the nature of their skin condition and guides them towards the best course of treatment.

Dr. Li was born in China to parents who were both physicians. At an early age, they all immigrated to the United States in pursuit of greater freedoms and opportunities. Dr. Li discovered his own passion for patient care through medical volunteer work during his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine.

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology, he went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. While there, he worked with world experts in laser medicine on developing better treatments for disfiguring birthmarks in children. He decided to specialize in Dermatology in order to serve patients of all ages and alleviate the disruption in qualify of life that highly visible skin diseases can cause. After graduating from medical school, he completed his Internal Medicine Internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, followed by his Dermatology Residency at the University of California, San Diego.

After residency training, Dr. Li moved to Tyler, Texas, where he provided attentive and compassionate care to the community of East Texas. While there, outside of his clinical duties, he spoke at physician group gatherings to increase awareness and knowledge about skin diseases. He also enjoyed speaking to the community about skin health through Walk With a Doc. He has finally settled in the Phoenix area in order to be closer to his family.

As a general dermatologist, Dr. Li treats a wide range of common and complex skin conditions in patients of all ages.
